Addressing significant barriers to retention and comprehension amongst students.
While access to primary education has seen some improvement in Malawi, there are still significant barriers to retention and comprehension amongst students. There are many stakeholders committed to improving the situation for young learners, however there are many schools that still fall through the gaps when it comes to governmental and outside funding.
The Goal
The Collective’s goal is to help identify areas we can supplement resources to fill these gaps in services. Some projects that our education program has implemented to address the specific needs of several primary schools are:
- Provided notebooks to primary learners
- Partnered with an international nonprofit to fast track the implementation of a vegan school feeding program
- Funded teachers’ salaries for underserved primary schools that were lacking teachers.
